Fallout was…disappointing.

Weaver Beaver Recommendation: If you like Sci-fi shows then this is a decent watch. If you don’t, then I wouldn’t. If you have fomo…then fuck it watch. My guess is season 2 will be much better.
Show Description: The series depicts the aftermath of the Great War of 2077, an apocalyptic nuclear exchange between the United States and China in an alternate history of Earth where advances in nuclear technology after WWII led to the emergence of a retrofuturistic society and a subsequent resource war. Many survivors took refuge in fallout bunkers known as Vaults, most being unaware that each Vault was designed to perform sociological and psychological experiments on the Vault Dwellers on behalf of Vault-Tec. More than 200 years later in 2296, a young woman named Lucy leaves behind her home in Vault 33 to venture out into the dangerously unforgiving wasteland of a devastated Los Angeles to look for her father, who has been kidnapped by wasteland raiders. Along the way, she meets a Brotherhood of Steel squire and a legendary ghoul bounty hunter, each having their own mysterious pasts and agendas to settle.
MW Review
The best part about this show is that I have a new catch phrase to tell all my lovers (like there’s a ton). I will forever use the phrase “Do you want to explode my cock?” When referring to sex now.
Outside of that I guess the show was entertaining? My biggest problem was that the entire season I felt like something was missing or I wasn’t given enough background to enjoy what was happening. The description above copied from Wikepedia has more description and background than the show and is more helpful in understanding what I watched.
I know the lack of background knowledge is partially intentional, but it makes watching maddening a bit, because in the back of your brain something is scratching saying “what don’t I know. If only I knew a little more background I could probably enjoy this joke or this reference.” I think I’m more disappointed than anything. I never played the video game, but I played the phone version and I was excited to see how they did this – especially with the success of The Last of Us. But alas this is NO The Last of Us.
However, I do think now that the world is mostly built now after season 1 and we know a BIT more about the background of how we got here so (fingers crossed) season 2 will be much better. I guess to sum it all up…they’ve got me. I’ll keep watching. But if you were already meh before then wait till season 2 comes out.
